Mine’s a Winkel Tripel, but it’s centered at 150dE, so it presents the islands of the pacific and the ocean that surrounds them as a unified biogeographic province. This has elicited feelings of marginalization by people from Ecuador, but fills people who have worked in Hawaii and Palau with a sense of peace and completion. Gall-Peters wasn’t available in a configuration that didn’t bifurcate the Pacific, and pretty much all the others are unacceptable for this and other reasons.
I’ve never left a party because of it, but shoes with toes do creep me out.
